To live in a fair society, absolute power and authority can not exist for a single leader. Absolute power and authority in a democracy, however, can. It has been most evident in the political past that one leader with absolute power and authority can not stand with their government for long, without soon falling.

Power and authority is highly sought after and when a person obtains this power and authority, they tend to use any means necessary to maintain it as the thought of losing this power and authority is unbearable.

Some people use power and authority for the good but others abuse their powers and only use it for their own private benefit. Take Nelson Mandela for example, he used his power and recognition to dispose of the apartheid regime and bring peace to his people. Unlike the military junta of Burma, who use their power to take over the country and strip the people of their rights.

When a leader is given complete authority the voices of the people are deafened by the decisions of whoever is in the power making position…. The upside in complete authoiruty is that someone who is relatively experienced can make decisions based on the country’s interests.
